God is good!

Thank you so much for your prayers and words of comfort!  God is so good and what a great reminder that He is in control of all things.  He promises us to never leave or forsake us and I know that His angels were surrounding us then and now.  I’m so grateful for the safety of our sweet Ella.  I was ready to fight to the death to save her should the situation have required it….praise God it didn’t.  Here are a few verses that have given me comfort these past few days:  “And we know that ALL THINGS work together for good to those who love God to those who are called according to His purpose.  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor ANY OTHER CREATED THING, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 8:28,38-39  “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind.”  2 Timothy 1:7  “We also glory in trials, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans 5:3-4  “for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.”  Hebrews 10:34       Love you all, Em

We are thankful

Scary Situation

Emily was robbed with a knife in the parking lot of the church tonight around 6:15pm. She refused to go with the man and offered up her diaper bag that she said had a $100 in it. He decided to take the bag and nothing more, but Emily is pretty shaken up. Neither Emily nor Ella were injured. I was on the way back from Austin on a business trip when she called me with the news. Emily filed a police report, and we just heard that the cameras at church caught the actual robbery. Pray for peace and justice in this difficult time.

Visit with the Aussies

Dscn1410_1 Jamey and Gillian came to visit us for several days and we LOVED the time together.  It was neat getting to introduce them to Ella for the first time and we laughed every time Jamey said, "Man, I just can’t believe y’all are parents….it’s so strange!"  (Background:  Jamey/Gill are some of our best friends who moved to Australia just 5 weeks before Ella was born.)  They brought her a stuffed koala and named him Banjo.  He’s almost as big as Ella and she loves to squeeze him and chew on his ear.  More pics posted of Ella…..I’ve been trying on outfits to determine what she’ll wear on Easter Sunday.  Stay tuned!

Dscn2052_1 Ella is now putting everything in her mouth….including her toes!  She’s eagerly grabbing at toys, blankets, clothes, MOMMY’S HAIR and even those little feet and putting them in her mouth.  She had her four month appointment last week and was 25.5 inches long and 12.5 pounds.  She was brave for the shots and hDscn2094er doctor said that everything looked great!  She’s holding her head up well and rolling from side to side, and also from stomach to her back.  She laughs and loves to play "fake cough" with anyone willing to humor her.  This morning, she got her first round of rice cereal and did pretty good for about 2/3 of the bowl.  I didn’t force the last bit down, figuring she’ll get the hang of it soon enough.  We’re excited because Jamey and Gill are coming to stay with us this next weekend for a few days all the way from Australia!  It will be their first time to see Ella, so we’re brushing up on all her tricks….
