Video: Seth shows us his golfing skills and the Brad Hennefer story

Share Button

As you can see from our last post, the fun house is working diligently on its collective golfing skills. Seth would not be out done by his sister. As you’ll see, he is well on his way to pounding that ball down the fairway. I haven’t seen a lot kids playing golf with Down syndrome, but I did find an inspirational video about Brad Hennefer who is a high school student with Down syndrome who has a really nice golf swing and a nice touch from three point range. Maybe Seth will follow in Brad’s footsteps. I know for a fact that Seth will have better form on his jump shot than Brad has on his jump shot. That push shot from the chest that Brad displayed isn’t going to cut it…..I’m totally joking. If the shot goes in, that’s all that counts. That form seems to work in the NBA for Shawn Marion of the Dallas Mavericks. Without, further delay, Seth’s golfing skills video:

Note the hip turn as she follows through. Note that the head remains still through contact. She may be a natural. Pappy may need to take her to the driving range.

She may have potential

Video: Seth runs into Mom’s arms

It’s a pretty good feeling when your three year old runs into your arms like this. It’s also a little funny watching his wobbly run.

Video: Kyle Walks! But he refuses to make it a habit

Kyle is one funny guy. He’s shown us he has been capable of walking for a while now, so his first steps have happened, but we had not documented it well. So, these are technically his first steps captured digitally at the fun house. Since he’s been teasing us for some time, it wasn’t quite the over the top celebration as on Seth’s big walking day for obvious reasons. Seth has Down syndrome, so his journey to walking was a determined struggle.

The third child

Share Button

Sweet, sweet Kyle.  I’m so sorry, sweet baby, that Mommy didn’t write you a letter about how much I adore you on your first birthday.  It’s not that I don’t think you are amazing or that you’re not as cute as the other two, it’s just that you’re the third child!  I don’t even have a baby book for you.  I can’t remember when you got your first tooth, sat up, crawled or what your first solid food reaction was.  But I do remember that it all happened and YOU, my littlest one, have stolen my heart!

Sweet baby Kyle

Kyle is almost there. He is pushing around his radio flyer rocket. Sometimes it kind of gets away from him.

Video: Seth winks and good pictures

Seth and I are working on winking. He is trying to do one eye, but it’s usually two eyes. Either way, it’s pretty cute over here at the Fun House.

Here are a few fun pics that we’ve taken with the kids recently. Kyle is still thinking about walking, but at this point he’s still holding onto one of our hands.

Video: Seth, Ella, and Kyle swing and laugh at their silly dad

Share Button

We wouldn’t be the Fun House if we didn’t keep it fun. Here’s a video that Seth is watching non-stop on the iPad these days. I’ve found that there’s nothing more fun for my kids than when their dad gets silly with them and makes them laugh. I acted like they were beating me up while they were swinging, and they were delighted with the game. It’s a young man’s game, however, so it couldn’t last too long. Enjoy!

Target and Down Syndrome

It’s nice to see Target including children with Down Syndrome in their ads. Read a good post about it at noahsdad.com. Have any of you seen other ads with kids with Down Syndrome recently? It’s always fun for us to see.

This is pretty cool
