Kyle is one funny guy. He’s shown us he has been capable of walking for a while now, so his first steps have happened, but we had not documented it well. So, these are technically his first steps captured digitally at the fun house. Since he’s been teasing us for some time, it wasn’t quite the over the top celebration as on Seth’s big walking day for obvious reasons. Seth has Down syndrome, so his journey to walking was a determined struggle.
Sweet, sweet Kyle. I’m so sorry, sweet baby, that Mommy didn’t write you a letter about how much I adore you on your first birthday. It’s not that I don’t think you are amazing or that you’re not as cute as the other two, it’s just that you’re the third child! I don’t even have a baby book for you. I can’t remember when you got your first tooth, sat up, crawled or what your first solid food reaction was. But I do remember that it all happened and YOU, my littlest one, have stolen my heart!
Kyle’s personality is really coming out more and more each day at the fun house.
This video is just pure cuteness. Soak it in.
Seth and I are working on winking. He is trying to do one eye, but it’s usually two eyes. Either way, it’s pretty cute over here at the Fun House.
Here are a few fun pics that we’ve taken with the kids recently. Kyle is still thinking about walking, but at this point he’s still holding onto one of our hands.
We wouldn’t be the Fun House if we didn’t keep it fun. Here’s a video that Seth is watching non-stop on the iPad these days. I’ve found that there’s nothing more fun for my kids than when their dad gets silly with them and makes them laugh. I acted like they were beating me up while they were swinging, and they were delighted with the game. It’s a young man’s game, however, so it couldn’t last too long. Enjoy!
Our beautiful Ella had her six year birthday party. We are so proud of the girl she is and excited about what God will do through her. Ella is a natural leader and has the charm to go with it. My prayer is that she would use those considerable talents to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loves her brothers and is a great friend to our son Seth. We were recently overjoyed to hear that, as a kindergartner, Ella seeks out other children with Down Syndrome and befriends them out on the playground. She knows how special Seth is and how other kids sometimes don’t know how to play with kids with DS because of their communication challenges. What a joy it is to see her already have a sensitivity to this at such an early age. What a great example it will be to her friends. Emily is due to to write up an ode to Ella and Kyle. In the meantime, enjoy the video!
Last year when I tried to get Seth to manage this on his own, he wasn’t quite able. So, we pulled out the hot wheels again recently, and Seth was able to rock it. He can spend a considerable amount of time doing this. Good times at the Fun House.
